The Ford Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) will be the only equipment that provides complete diagnostic coverage of current and future Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles in North America.
The IDS package replaces the Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS). The IDS application will perform the identical functions of the WDS and allows dealership technicians to diagnose and service Ford, Lincoln, Mazda, Mercury, Land Rover & Jaguar vehicles.
As the new diagnostic tool,IDS will be required to perform diagnostics on future model year vehicles . One IDS Package is recommended for each WDS in the dealership.

The following wireless software version (v11.1) is compatible with IDS-67 or later. We highly recommend loading wireless software v11.1 with IDS-70.

The latest IDS software can be downloaded from the web or installed from the latest VCM DVD.
Note: To minimize the length of software download wait times, it is highly recommended to download software updates from a wired connection versus wireless connection. If a wired connection is not available, please download to a USB drive.
Note: Baseline calibration files can be installed from the latest available VCM DVD. This can minimize the need to access the Internet when programming a module.
The following steps may be required before installation:
1. Check your Internet Explorer Security settings:
Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools > Internet Options > Security tab
Write down your current security settings
Set the Default Level (for Internet) to Low
2. Temporarily disable your PC's firewall software
3. Temporarily disable any internet popup blockers
4. Temporarily disable any anti-spyware programs
5. Temporarily disable any anti-virus programs
6. After installation be sure to return all settings to their prior values
